catalina has great fishing calico bass is great at the right time of the year tuna is available there too. Baracuda is plentiful also sculpin and makerel but plenty to go for Squid being the best bait.

Hopes this helps, the tuna trips are going as low as $100 right now. But talking with the guys down south it is hit or miss, no one has the gas money to go out and find them. The Island is the most consistent action right now, Calico's and white seabass are chewing right now. If you got any questions about the fishing reports call Performance Tackle #714.826.1400.Hope that helps.

Catalina yes but the fish are away from the shore. Ensenada yes but same problem. Better to rent a boat at Catalina, don't know if they still rent boats at Ensenada

You have to be careful at Catalina with the shore fishing. There is a protected area called Lovers Cove if I remember correctly. This area is west-southwest of town, but very close. You can see all kinds of fish there from the glass bottom boats, but I believe it is off limits to fishing. Be sure to ask around before you try.

If your adventurous, try renting a kayak out of catalina, you can get into some good bass, not to far from the island. I am not sure about shore fishing, I was always on a boat out there.
