I;m going on vacation in FL next month for a few days. I was wondering if I could UPS or mail my poles down there. To fly them down on the plane will be $39 each way. I was wondering if it would be cheaper to ship them down seperate.

[#008000][Image: happy.gif]UPS would be much cheaper. It would probably run you about $10 for a rod in a 4½' tube. Check out the UPS shipping chart on Google.[/#008000]

You can get a special fishing rod carrying case that would allow you to put a few rods in there and ship them all without breakage. [cool]

yeah I've looked at those. I'm trying to do this as cheaply as possible though. I can't take them on the plane cause of the cost. I thought shipping them might be easier.

i just had a rod shipped to me and it cost 12.50 and that was in a 4 1/2 foot tube, i imagine you could fit a couple in it but the reels wouldnt fit but you could probly take them as carry on.

I don't think they can charge if your carry on happens to be a fishing rod bag. My brother flew here from Jersey with his rod and he brought it in a tube bag from "Modells". The great thing about it is you can still carry a back pack as your real carry on cause after all women can carry a big a$$ purse and a carry on LOL.
