Hello. I did a lot of fishing growing up, but after getting married and starting a family, I kind of got out of the hobby. Never seemed to be enough time, I guess. Now, 10-15 years later, I've decided to get back into it.
I feel like I've forgotten half of what I once knew, and what I once knew wasn't all that much. [:p] I'm a freshwater fisherman, though I did go sea-fishing once and thoroughly enjoyed it, aside from the wicked sea-sickness (4-5 ft. waves that day on a relatively small boat).
There appears to be a wealth of information here on BFT, and the forum members seem genuinely friendly and helpful, so I look forward to learning a lot and maybe paying it forward at some point.

I've got a 5' ultra-light rig with a Pflueger spinning reel, 6lb. mono that I usually use with a slip bobber and a Quantum Tenacity AP medium action bait caster combo (which I could *really* use a little insight or a few tips on using correctly - I posted in the general tackle tips forum, but that forum doesn't appear to get a lot of traffic), 10lb. mono, usually rigged for either cat or bass fishing. I do, however, really miss my old black and chrome Zebco 33 I had growing up. [

I love to fish for catfish, crappie, bluegill and bass.

Welcome to the site Quasi, did you by chance clink on the link that Macfly gave you? In the freshwater fishing section, it has catfish, crappie, bluegill and bass boards that might be of some help to you because more folks use them. We also have state fishing boards that we can direct you to if you would like to tell us where you are from.
As I was growing up, I too remember the old zebco 33 fishing reels, I hauled in a lot of fish with those reels until I finally move on to a spinning reels.
