So we tried to beat Wiskers and Jmax down to Wiskers' spot, but my boat stalled and they got the beat on us. emoLaugh So we stopped at a place just short of there on a channel ledge. Top of the ledge was 15, the bottom was deep, so we hung around 30-40 and cast on to the top of the ledge. Within 30 minutes of fished we had boated 2 keepers, our best two. One on a c-rig brush hog, watermelon I think. The other on a drop shot, green pumpkin char. tail chomper worm. We proceeded to catch 8 more fish before we put another keeper in the boat. They all fell to a c-rig or a drop shot with various plastics. char dead ringer, 10 june bug, 6 june bug (drop shot): baby bass, and I think june bug (c-rig), and one on a dd-22 bumble bee color. Then caught one more slick after our last keeper to make the total fish 12, 9 non 3 keepers. For a total weight of 5.9 i think. Moved to a different spot at 8:45, a 14 ft point to try for a kicker, they were there 2 weeks ago but not now. Hit a different ledge for about 7 minutes and got back to the ramp for the weigh in. All I know is I was trying to beat my friends and I did. This is too much fun I must say that. First time I got a limit for a tourney in my boat. Had 2 out of 3 one other time.

Now when we were leaving I noticed a fish trying to swim around, but was stuck on the top of the water. Well I just so happen to have gotten some needles today. I decided that since this one was a goner if I did not do something, then I might as well try. Piece of cake. I took this 1.5" 18 gauge needle, opened the fishes mouth. Put the needle about 1/8" to the left and 1/4" above its gullet. Pushed the fish under the water, pushed the needle in about 1/2" max, probably less, and bubbles just started coming out like crazy. Let is go for about 3-5 seconds, and pulled the needle out. Fish suspended well in the water but would not move after that. Let it sit there for about 15 seconds. Lefty said pull its tail to give it a little movement. Did that and it swam off, under the water this time, very nicely. Never fizzed a fish before, but it was very easy though the mouth.

Not sure if any of the ones I caught needed to be fizzed. Did not do it, but they did not look like this fish did. It was on its side on the top of the water. My fish swam off under the water. I guess I will learn with time.

No pics sorry.
