Alright just got a place in Midway and headed up from Vegas with the kids for fishing June 30th thru July 5th. I want the kids to catch some fish, Oh and of course I want to catch fish. Were the best place from shore? I am flexible as to location and species just looking for some action. Any recommendation as to location and/or setups are welcome.

[fishin] [#ff0000]well im no fish guru but ive got a cpl set ups that work well for me from shore! (for trout) a good ol worm and marshmallow combo or worm and powerbait(rainbow or chartruse) or just power bait!!! use a cpl good sinkers or better yet get those clear plastic bubbles u fill up with water, put a cpl small sinkers one above and one below the bubble! and put the bubble and sinkers about 2 -2 1/2 ft from the hook!!!(use a regular worm hook and thread the worm all the way on the hook, then mold the powerbait in a nice ball and cover the hook, leave just the eye of the hook showing and slide the worm back down to cover it) also u can try any soft plastic grubs jigs or worms in green, pumpkin, (crawdad imitations) u might get a bass or two! both set ups work well for both jordanelle and deer creek! just west of the main marina at jordanelle i caught this 24" rainbow on worm and powerbait combo last week! about 30 yds from shore in about 29 ft of water! i was on a boat but close to shore!!! hope this helps out a little![/#ff0000]

I've never had much luck fishing Jordanelle from shore...it could be just me, Deer Creek is a little better for me as far as shore fishing.

If that's 24" I've gotta go submit a few state records. I'll give you 18" unless you are a huge Yeti Sasquatch hybrid that was planted deep into the forests of West Valley.
Really though. Did you throw a tape on that thing?
Didn't think so.

I gotta agree on that one. Looks like a 17 incher to me
