Well, the luck of spur is alive and well!
Started off good I thought, then realized i wanted to get LOTS of ice to collect all the spots donated. That took 10 minutes, and I called MrWiskers to get everybody off this AM. I am new to this TX stuff, and didnt realize yall would be there at 5:15 waiting on me! LOL
Oh well, got launched after all had blasted off, and proceeded to look for shad......and look for shad...and so on. NEVER found any good shad at all. I did find 7 small Gizzard, about 7" and stuck them in the well for later. Since my T-motor needs warranty work I was kinda stuck on what to do, not being able to troll around anywhere, so we anchored and hauled water with several bait, waisting time. Back to the bait search, found a net full of less than 1" shad spilling out of the net, kept some and used crappie jigs with those, catching on 16" LM, several whites, yellas and a bream. NO Spots!
Decided to go above the dam to try a jigging spoon, and hunter caught a big white bass and thats it. I decided to try those gizzard shad, thinking if something bites, its ON! Well, out of 7 shad, I caught 3 14" LM.....emoBang UNREAL how a small bass will take such a huge bait!
Locked back through in time for the REAL fisherman wiegh in some nice fish.
Thanks all for coming and congrats to DD22Fish on the win!
