I caught about a 13/14 inch smallmouth this afternoon. I have been fishing Jordanelle lately so I wasn't surprised until I was leaving today and then it hit me that I caught that smallie in Utah lake. 1st one for me there... It was about 1.5 lbs. I didn't even think about taking a picture of it.. I just looked at it and threw it back in.... A couple of guys fishing the bank about 30 feet away watched me pull him in and let him go... I wish I would have taken a pic... I caught a couple of cookie cutter 3lb catfish. I also caught a few nice bluegill. I wasn't gonna go fishing today and about 10:00 wife said to shampoo the carpet in the house or go fishing. Took me about 10 minutes to hookup the boat and leave.

I wish I would have taken a pic of that smallie.... Caught it on a jig tipped with a small white curly tail and nightcrawler.......

Utah Lake has about every species of fish you can think of. Its like the Baskin Robins of lakes hehehe.....

There are some nice smallies around the Provo State Park. First one I caught I had to look at it twice to make sure I was staring at a smallie. The red eyes leave no doubt!

Man all this talking makes me wanna ditch work and go fishin!

I was fishing in Saratoga Springs marina for bluegill... That is the first smallie I caught out of UL.... When I left around 5pm yesterday the waves were starting to form and even a couple of rollers. I was in the marina for a few hours and didn't know the wind was starting up.... The waves werent bad but were starting up.....
