My neighbor was there a couple of weeks ago. He caught 150 on the usual red and white crappie jigs. Thats all I have heard recently.

We went out on CJ early last week after "gators". Our mission was to indoctrinate Tony, a "Sturgeon Virgin". We made the customary stop by the Cove Dike to try to catch some fresh bait.....very slow, only caught 2 small crappie and a perch and decided it was time for a gator hunt.
Here's a link to a video of Tony's experience. Enjoy.

That is an amazing video. I hope people find it and view a remarkable fight. I might put out a message sending them this way. Mike

Wow, incredible fish. How tiring that must be, and I thought King Salmons were hard to reel in.
Congrats

Cool....that experience was a REAL eye opener for Tony. He'll definitely be looking forward to future trips. Mel did a good job on filming and editing, but unfortunately didn't capture more of the awesome jumps this fish made. No easy task because of the commotion usually associated with the battle.

You fishing below the dam or up top on the reservoir? I was there last wednesday and water was really high below making crappie pretty tough down there. Normally its always good right below the spill way or in that little cutback by the turbins, but with the water high people were catching them next to some brush in the water about halfway between the turbins and that point that comes out between the spillway and turbins. Let me know how the water is if you're below the dam, I need to make another trip pretty soon myself.

Great video. I will be seeing that same scenery (and stretch of water) tomorrow -- can't wait.

we were fishing up the snake river arm of cj. anchored out over holes. lots of grass/veg floating downriver can be somewhat troublesome.

You would be very welcome to tag along. If you don't mind, I may borrow your avatar (I graduated from BYU way back in 1973).
