Dunno how many of you are Jazz fanz, but here goes:

Can you believe that Korver, Okur, and Boozer all opted IN??? Amazing. I thought for sure Boozer was gone after his mid-season "Im defenitely opting out.." comment. Now the Jazz are in the luxury tax and they have yet to even sign Millsap. Who knows if they will be able to now... [:/]

Your right about Boozer. He should have just gone. But there are not enough teams with the money to pay him on the open market. He made the right move for himself, wrong move for the Jazz. Korver would never get that money out there and I guess Okur really likes Utah. I think they have to sign Millsap and try to trade Boozer at the deadline. There are many teams that will take on expiring contracts, but this puts the Jazz in a crap position. Boozer is gone next year and they need Millsap for the future. CB really did not make this a good summer for the Jazz.

Very true. And another bad thing about having to trade Booze before the deadline is that unless the team looking to get him can absorb all of his salary and not go into the LT themselves, then we have to take back salary too.

Hopefully Miller is willing to pay the LT this year, otherwise I don't think he will sign Millsap.

He (Miller) has stated a few times that they would entertain the idea of going into the Luxury Tax if they felt it would help better the future of the team. In my opinion, they are refering to Millsap. I think one benefit of having Boozer here this year will be his work ethic. Think about it, he is going to go above and beyond to show his skill for when it comes time for other teams to start making offers next year. By then Millsap will be ready to step into that full time PF position. (That is if we keep him, (fingers crossed), praying)... I am an Avid Jazz fan... Love it...

Here is what I have come to conclude. The Jazz are going to be a solid playoff team for years to come. However, I am convinced that as long as Lebron, Kobe, Garnett, Howard, and other Super Stars are in the league. We will not get our championship. It seems like there is always someone who is willing to work alot harder and be alot more dedicated than the Jazz have been. I think Kobe is good for another ring or two, Lebron will soon take over and get his 5-8 rings. Its just bad news for Jazz fans. Unless of course we could somehow get a superstar franchise guy to support D WILL. Just my thoughts, opinions on this welcome.

I completely agree with you.

Two words - David Lee

A perfect fit for the jazz, I would take him for a Boozer/AK combo or a Boozer/Milsap combo.

I'd trade Boozer for a peanut butter sandwich

That's an expensive sandwich right there[sly]. If the Jazz decide to match Portlands offer to Milsap then they will more than likley be forced to trade Boozer. This is especially true since they just re-upped with Memo. Lets just hope Maynor steps up as a rookie and does a solid job behind Deron. I think one of our weakest positions last year was at backup point. Brevin just stunk it up and is pretty worthless in my opinion. It pains me to see the Jazz finish in the 8th spot and get knocked out in the first round. Remember, we are only 3 seasons past a trip to the conf. finals and expectations are high.

Looks like the Jazz re-signed Ronnie Price today. I don't mind this move too much. Ronnie plays with a lot of heart and can create for himself when needed. Maynor sure didn't look all that great in the summer league.

I bet the Jazz match Millsap's offer.

so long to boozer, welcome in milsap. in my mind milsap (the paperboy as i like to call him) plays his heart out it doesnt matter if there down by 20 or up by 20. boozer takes nights off, and wont play unless he is 100 percent healthy. I would rather watch a guy that wants to win than a guy who wants a paycheck

Dont forget the jazz get the knicks pick next year in the draft, maybe the jazz will have luck on there side for once and get there superstar. But then we have to get Sloan to let him play.

Hey man, I was wondering. Its only been about two years that I have gotten retarded about the Jazz and the NBA in general for that matter.... I was wondering if you would elaborate on the whole Nicks pick next year and what not. I was unaware of that but it seems pretty exciting, especially if they suck as bad this year as they have lately? is it a certain predetermined pick, or is just there lowest pick in the draft next year? How did we obtain it? etc... Thanks in advance.

Chris.

We get the Knicks 1st round pick next year, no matter how good or bad it is.

I can't for the life of me remember what deal brought it to us, but it has been a few years back.

Rooting against the Knicks this year will be almost as fun as rooting for the Jazz. [Wink]

here's a link to a salt lake tribune article describing how the jazz got the pick: [url "http://www.sltrib.com/jazz/ci_12667010"]http://www.sltrib.com/jazz/ci_12667010[/url]

A few weeks back while traveling home from the gorge HJ brimhall and I were discussing possible trade prospects for booz. Matt had commented on how he really likes the knicks david lee and how he would be a great fit for utah. Well, a few days ago on the radio I hear DJ & PK (1320 kfan) talking about a rumor swirling about this very deal being in the works. Anyone hear this also or know any updates? I know the Jazz won't trade unless it makes the team better but what does everyone think of a booz for lee trade?
[signature]
I like Lee a lot, but I dunno if he is our answer. We just re-signed Paul Millsap for several years and extended Memo. Dunno if we want to commit $10 mill a year to Lee when we have pretty close to the same player in Millsap. Not enough minutes to go around, and Paul is way to slow to move to SF.

I think the Jazz need to look at getting a legit shooting guard myself. Include CJ in the deal and get a filler center would be nice.

I dont like the idea of sending boozer to the nicks just because of the 1st round pick we will get next year. I dont think KOC would do anything that could possibly make them better at least this year anyways. ???? Just my thought.
