Crankbaits. All my rods have 6.1 ratios and I just change the speed of retrieve.

I have 3 quantum reels with the 7:1:1 gear ratio and I really like having the extra speed when i need it. When a bass is swiming towards the boat and you need to take up the slack fast you will have no problem catching up. You can always just reel a ittle slower for baits that require it. [cool]

That is 100% true for me. I use 7.0:1 on everything but my 2 finesse rigs. When a smallie wants to shake a crankbait, 7.0:1 brings in the slack line a lot faster. And, like you said, if a bass follows a T-Rig and hammers it on the way towards you, the higher G.R. doesn't give them much of a chance if you're paying attention.
