Went back to Willard to see if our trip on Tuesday was a fluke. Used the same lures, going the same speed, in the same location and this time we couldn't buy a walleye, only wipers. They really hit the lures hard. It is the first time we've seen a fish pull a plained board completely under the water. Smallest one was 16" and the biggest was 20". The skiing traffic was a little busy so we left around noon. Water was cooler than Tuesday and the storm yesterday was probably why the walleye bite shut off. It was a good day in that this was our first wipers caught.
