Fishing was slower this weekend. The reservoir is still on the rise, and water temps are hovering between 65-70F.

Trolling around Jarvies produced one koke and one bow on Friday morning. We moved above Jarvies on Saturday morning and caught a laker, rainbow, and kokanee in about 4 hours of trolling. Finally, on Sunday we traveled all the way up to Carter Creek where we struck out on kokes, but salvaged 3 rainbows and 6 lakers.

After playing with a lot of speeds, depths, and lures our pattern was still weak. We marked fish mostly between 30-50ft in each of the three locations. We caught most of the fish and bites on a hyperplaid dodger with a Radical red tube or a solitary Serpent spoon in Tequila sunrise running around 2mph.

On a good note, we fished for smallmouth bass on a couple of occasions. They were hitting really good still, and we caught several using 3/8oz. jigs (Yamamoto green/gold flake and black/silver flake) and Rapala Xraps in rainbow. Most of the fish were around 8 inches, but we caught a few pushing 2lbs. They provided some quick action and a few white fillets before calling it a day.

Hope it helps, Ryno

Sorry to hear it was slow for Kokes. I love catching those fisty fish. F.G. is good because there are many other fish to catch.

Were the Kokes scattered? The last time I was up there a couple of weeks ago they were. When do they start schooling up again?

I want to go back up there and try again. My friend caught a 23 inch Koke and it was fat and heavy. I would like to catch a few more like that.
