OceanLED®, the industry leader with a full line of versatile underwater and above-water LED lighting, is pleased to announce its association with Capt. Jose Wejebe, noted Key West fishing guide and host of one of television's most successful fishing programs, The Spanish Fly.
OceanLED has installed a full array of its renowned Amphibianâ„¢ lights on Wejebe's 34' SeaVee center console boat, including two A12 lights in blue aiming down, two A12 lights in white aimed back from the transom, and two A3 Amphibian lights in white installed as spreader lights to provide brilliant light on deck. Ease of installation was an important consideration for Wejebe, who appreciated the small 3/8" hole for cable entry -- not to mention the fact that Amphibian lights are virtually maintenance free with LED life of over 50,000 hours.
"The OceanLED lights provide a fantastic alternative to my old halogen lights," says Wejebe. "I was actually concerned about the heat those old-style lights generated - not to mention generating enough power to keep them lit. I can run the OceanLED lights with just a fraction of the power, no heat buildup - and get brighter lighting than I've ever had before."
Wejebe, who does a lot of night fishing, diving and filming, uses some of the lights to attract baitfish - and other combinations to attract bigger fish like tarpon and swordfish - as well as to provide attractive night lighting while the boat is in its slip. The lights will play a prominent role in the filming of an upcoming episode on nighttime swordfishing later this summer.
"The fact that a fishing pro like Jose recognizes the value and benefit of our lights is especially gratifying to us and a true affirmation of how serious enthusiasts are embracing our brand," says Lee Savage, President of OceanLED. "We're looking forward to working with him on a slew of exciting industry projects in the months ahead."
