I'm headed up to Birch Creek Res. later this week, and not really sure how to fish for tiger trout. My guess would be just like any other trout, the old worm on bottom or trolling a worm. Any idea's? One more question which Reservor is better fishing Lower or Higher?

Never fished Birch Creek Res but tigers trout are predictors you can catch them on a worm but you'll have more success using bait fish or bait fish imitations. If its not outside of your budget pick up one of those berkley gulp buckets .. I think they might have smaller less expensive sizes now.
Toss it out and slow retrieve it back or bounce it off the bottom imitation a wounded fish.

Birch Creek can be hard to fish at times, you can fish it three days in a row, and not have the same thing work any day. It seems to be worse in the summer. The lower reservoir will not hold water for a very long period of time, they sometimes stock it with a few small rainbows, but I don't think that they have this year.

Tell me more about the Berkley Gulp Buckets. What are they, are there different baits and how do you use them? I think I heard someone mention grups in a bucket. Is that the same thing? Do they make minnows in a bucket? Thanks for the information.

Last time up (June 27) we float tubed using our fly rods with leaded line and got them to hit a brown leach.
They were deep so trolled the lead line all the way out to the backing and stripped 20 quick rips then let it back out again. Nothing in their bellies this time but usually are stock full of snails making their meat bright red. Hope this helps.... enjoy they're a hoot to land on the fly rod. I had one strip line as soon as he hit, and fought me for about 5 minutes before he gave up.
