I was the same way a couple years ago and I'm nearly twice your age! Haha. Glad to know I'm not the only guy without a brain. Hooks, line, and sinker don't cost that much. If you can go out and mow a couple lawns you've got enough money to get the rest of the stuff. Doin' yard work for others is how I made my first millions... okay, hundreds. Bought me all kinds of neat toys (electronics). There was no fishin' within reach of me back then. So I bought the next best thing. Determination and hard work will get you started in the right direction.

[size 1]Another good way to go is the Golf Courses, Carrying a bag or two always paid good when I was a kid. Often you can pick up a few regulars over the summer and get a steady gig. [/size]
[size 1]By the way where do you live? I know here in Southern California there are many Free Kids Fishing events. Hook up there, they usually have lots of free starter gear available. Try inquiring in the regional boards in your sate (scroll down on the main page of these forums and you'll see'em). I would be willing to bet if you volunteer some time at a couple of events they'll hook you up with some tackle. [/size]
