Has anyone heard how the fishing is at Magic lately. I think I will head down there with the wife and kids this sunday. I have never been there before where should I try to catch a few fish with the kids? We will be in a old orange boat if you see us give us a wave!

We fished it a few weeks ago, and found the fish where we always do, when it is nearly full. Go north from the West Magic resort, and you will find a lone cabin on the ridge. Fish from the cabin to the other side (east) and in either direction on the east side. A Jack Lloyd 2-blade and a wedding ring with a bit of night crawler did best. Remember to give us a report when you return. The recent report on the West Magic site says it has slowed down somewhat. Good luck. Mike

Thanks Mike. I will report when we get back, hopefully we can catch some fish. Do you know where the bass hang out? I thought I might try for a few of them while I am down there. Thanks.

Well I we just got back from Magic, I guess I can't call myself a fisherman yet. I didn't have any luck, I did get one good hit by the lone cabin, but I missed him.
I had 2 and a half colors of lead core out, a ford fender ( small blade one ) and a wedding ring with a bit of worm. Speed was about 1.9.
I also tried a beer can troll and a wedding ring on it, and a perch rapala for a while, with no luck.
The good news is the kids and wife had lots of fun. They fished with me for a while, then I dropped them off on a beach and let them swim and play in the water. My boat ran decent also and there were no break downs, so it was a pretty good day on the water. [
