what do you guys think of this?

Bass Tracker Bass Boat in Excellent Condition! 15' 7" aluminum, Mercury 35 hp w/ electric tilt. Live well, electric trolling motors, 2 fish finders. Complete tune-up. Comes with Bass Tracker Trailer. $2,900 OBO

I went and checked it out. It was owned by an older gentleman who he knew and bought it from the original owner. This guy has a spare part for everything on the boat. Spare props for the motor and the trolling motor spark plugs and boxes of other little things. They were old school so they took out the fuel injection and mix their own gas. The parts are still there to put back if I want. Everything works, live wells , lights, and pumps etc. He said the only thing he believes that don't work is the tachometer gauge. It has two fish finders. Why do you need two anyways?

I am pretty stoked about this boat. It looks really good. I am glad it was well taken care of and is pretty much exactly what I am looking for. I think we are going to go pick it up tomorrow and take it out to lake mead to test it out.

Any good questions or extra things I should look for and test before and while at the lake. All comments and wisdom is greatly appreciated. I do have the old saying the happiest day of a boat owner is the day he buys it and the day he sells it lurking in the back of my mind. I believe the happiest day I have on it will be every day I am out fishing no on the shore.

if i wasnt doing everything i could to buy a house i would look into buyin a boat of this caliber right now too. it sounds like a good deal. what year is it? how was it stored? and when was the last time it ran are questions i would ask. i would bring a barrel to fill with water over to his house and stick the motor in it and listen to it run. if it sounds good with no knocks buy it and change the oil and stuff. should be fairly cheap to register too. i mean even if you get 4 or 5 years outa it even and have to buy another small used motor it is a good deal if you go to the lake alot. lake mead you can go year round. i say do it dude. maybe offer 23 or 25 to start even. then take me and my girlfriend out to catch stripers!!! you can keep ours. haha, just playin

Yeah man, that sounds cool- I'd make sure you take it out for a good test drive, and really see how it acts on the water.
Something you'll want to know - What year is the motor? Is there any way you can find out how many hours have been put on it?

Really, what is important is that you take it to a proper boat mechanic and have him do a full inspection. Then you will know what it is going to take to maintain this boat.

Dont forget- NDOW is now enforcing the boaters license law.
They say that if you were born after 1983 you need to take a test to get a boaters license.

I think that if you are going to be driving a boat (no matter how old you are) you should get the free booklet from an NDOW office and take the test.
It is loaded with all the proper boating knowledge that so many people out there lack. I know there are a lot of boating "incidents" that could be avoided if some people only knew what they were supposed to be doing while driving a boat.

I don't mean to rant, but it's a good quiz to take.

Anyway- Congrats on the boat!
When I looked at it he hooked the hose up to it ran good and sounded pretty mean for a little boat motor. I think it was very well maintained I mean he had a spare part for everything. It was stored on the side of his house fairly shaded and had a cover on it but the wind tore it up. The seats aren't thrashed by the sun and the carpet looks pretty good for an 88. He also said he just spent 800 last year getting it tuned up.

I got it and we took it out to Navajo this weekend. The boat was really sweet everything worked. The motor needs to be tuned up. I am going to try some fresh plugs and see how it runs and if that doesn't do it I may have the carbs rebuilt. It only will run up to half the rpms and then it kinda like bogs out and wont rev up any higher while in gear. It revs up fine in neutral though. After trolling for the day and then tilting the motor all the way up gas runs out of the out board. It still got us around for the weekend but not very fast :[ we still caughts lots of fish tho and had a blast.
