I am looking for something for floating the South Fork. Looking at a used drift boat or maybe a pontoon like the Outlaw Outfitter by North Fork or? I like the stability of the pontoon but I don't know about rowing or ease of fishing. Opinions?

If you are fishing with other people I would go with a driftboat hands down. Room to put more equipment camping/fishing gear etc... If you are planning on going alone a lot I would look at the pontoon options.

Except the OUTLAW you can buy the extra frame and make a two man.
The Outlaw will be easier to store, and transport.
You can put an Electric OR a gas motor on the Outlaw easier.
And there is a bigger shelf available now for it, for more storage.
Also, look at the AVENGER, a bigger frame and pontoon, but still packable
I have rowed both and both are pretty easy. I would recommend the CARBON OARS for the Outlaw or Avenger...

If your just doing the bridge to Connant, a toon is fine. If you really want to fish the river, get the drift boat.
I love pulling over around 9 and cooking breakfast on the river, the drift boat allows me to carry all that stuff and more.

I guess I wasn't very clear. I am looking at the 2 person Avenger or 3 person Outfitter compared to a drift boat.

The drift boat is nice if you want to just throw things in and go. The toon takes a bit more time loading just to make sure things are in place. There is a big weight difference which should be looked at depending on where you put in and take out. You need a trailer with the drift, but not with the toon, all tho it does make it easier to leave it inflated on a trailer. The toon can float in shallower water, but not a big differance. If you do float a shallow river, you can pick up or walk the toon through the shallow area much easier. The Outfitter is more comparable to a drift. It really depends on what your situation is with fishing, vehicles, number of people, type of rivers fished, etc.
