well i dont carry a scale at all actually... i have caught alot of browns in this range and your prob right i may be under 9lbs.... it was dark... and it felt very heavy.. its back was 4inches friggin wide and i couldnt put my hands around its belly and it could have swallowed my hand with eas hahaha.... so i guess im wrong??... a picture never does justice.. especially in the dark..
so thank you for pointing that out... i will no longer give my guessemations of weight on trout... i will simply post the length or say BIG [#ff0000]EDITED[/#ff0000] TROUT if it will make u happy...
i dont post here to be critisized or judged by you or anyone else... i post here to make myself a more knowledgable fisherman and to possibly help others in the same and have been doing so on this site for years!! ..
all i know is 6lbs or 9lbs a brown this size... is still a trophy in my eyes.
oh and one more thing.. as for me holding the fish out to make it look bigger in the picture that YOU posted of me... take another look dude... u must be blind. in lunkerhunters pic yea he is... but mine is almost right agianst my body...

I'll probably get flamed off this board, but here goes nothing.
* There are lots of pigs in the Weber and I have caught a few nice ones myself up to 23".
* I don't doubt that Catman has caught lots of pigs in the Weber or other local rivers.
* My problem is that either he is using a really terrible camera or there are several of the pictures that are fakes.
* I've looked at a lot of fishing pictures over the years and Catman's are very strange and have lots of inconsistencies.
* For example in the latest batch "kdk_0181" , what is the weird white pixels along the nose of the Rainbow trout? Looks like a bad cut and paste job.
* also in "kdk_0197" the elbow under the fish looks completely weird and out of place
* There are other inconsistencies in lots of other photos recently posted over the last several months. I may be wrong and I apologize in advance if I am. Maybe you just need to invest in a nicer camera to capture your moments of glory.

HOLY CRITICS !!!!!!! hey nice fish man, I cant believe how many nice hogs you pulled out of that river. That river used to be my favorite. So now that you have caught all the big ones on hardware lets see if you can hook into one of those bad boys on a fly rod and get her all the way into the net!!!LOL. It is a whole different ball game. Anyways again nice fish and keep em coming

+1.
Too much jealousy when a guy catches a big fish consistently, and god forbid, posts the weight they think the fish weighs.
[signature]
Man talk about Haters! This guy posts more pictures of trophy fish, then anyone I have seen since I joined this board. Hook Jaw I know you and Lunkerhunter do just fine, but give the guy a break, it's not like this site is an official registry of fish weights and measures. Comparing the two pictures it does look a little under weight compared to LH2 hog, but his estimate is not that far off. A couple pounds here or there, doesn't make a huge difference when your holding a fish that size. IMO
If there are so many people out there that catch fish like that out of the Weber, lets see some pictures. Until then your the one telling fish stories.
BTW his pics are not photoshoped. Dude don't let these guys get to you, you got those fish dialed in and I bet you nail that 30" soon.

Man what the heck. There are some freckin pigs in the weber, if you know where to go and it looks like Cat man knows where to go. Just like any place you put your time in and you do your homework you'll find the big fish and know how to catch them. Nice job again Catman

I thought i put in my 2 cents in. First nice fish. I always question some of these sizes and weights.Doesnt anyone carry a tape measure that would help in true length. as off post about questoning the photos Im no photographer but what was said was there oppinion. As for me if they were fake thats bad if real congrats on hogs I myself have caught more then my share of hogs on the weber. Keep on fishing!

Sweet fish. I hope you keep posting even with all the comments. I am sure you are saying to yourself "why should I even post here anymore". Great report.

Don't bring me into this! Catmans fish are huge no matter what they weigh. Scale or not.[img]../../../images/gforum/
.gif[/img]
My fish was weighed on a certified scale at 8# 13oz.
Everyone else, I have caught a few and lost a few fish the size they are catching. Not near as many as they have in the last 6 months. He has them figured out better than anyone i know. For most of us on this site, one fish of this size is a trophy of a lifetime. They are catching them by skill and in numbers. My big fish were dumb luck. The 32" 12# brown out of Pineview i caught while fishing for tigers with big rapalas. The 8# rainbow was caught on a chatterbait while fishing for tigers. This last one(pictured) was caught on a size 14 Ratso trying to catch splake. Give them some credit. I don't think this fish is quite as big as mine BUT, it is not very far from it.
Keep the pics coming! I will be after them after the snakes go back into hybernation.[

It's too bad you have to refer to me as a "Hater". I don't hate you at all man! I have a great respect for you, your reports, and your ability to consistently catch the bigguns. My post was meant as a general note to all of those people that might be misjudging fish. How is someone trying to learn to judge fish, going to learn with so many exaggerated fish stories???
The picture of Brody's brown was a reference, and I thought that your fish may have been a little smaller than mentioned. Is it such a bad thing to discuss the size of a fish with each other once in a while.
Yes, I'm jealous of the fish. Who wouldn't be thrilled to catch a nice fish like that??? I just wanted to give my opinion on the size of the fish, and once again I'll be known as a "Hater" for expressing my opinion.
No, I'm not an expert by any means. But, I can tell the difference between a 5 pound fish and a 9 pound fish any day of the week.
Hope there's no hard feelings, and your photos are definitely NOT fake. You are an awesome fisherman and contribute a lot to the site. Thank you and good luck with the 30 incher.

Bassrods posts pictures??? Where????????? [cool]

Every single fish you have on your Trophy Room page looks exactly the size you identified. That 30 incher is a HAWG! and you said it was 8 pounds in the trophy room. This recent 9 pounder was about half the size. Now can you see why I was a little
?

You said...

I have caught alot of trout in utah and have seen alot of trout caught. They come in allllll kinds of sizes short, long fat, skinny, tall, thin. I once cought a rainbow from strawberry that was 14" long guess how much it weighed. 6 pounds!! It was 10" from dorsal fin to its belly. Now....tell me if I posted a pic of that fish would you been able to tell how much it weighed.
That pic was dark and there was nooooo depth perseption. So dont say that your no expert but can make a 4 pound judgment from pic that wast taken at night. Especially on a trout.
