Went to a small Res. in Idaho yesterday, no boats allowed. Had a ball. [
] Was there just 5 hrs. and Sparky only got out of the water once, and then only for a couple of minutes. I don't see how he swims so long without getting tired. Then when I get home he wants to play fetch with his ball, amazing.
Anyway, I was the only one on the pond in a tube bass fishing. 3 others were there but were perch fishing. All others were shore anglers, maybe a dozen. The place is full of small bass but I've learned a few spots where the bigger guys are, after fishing there 3 other times. I fished for LM with the tube and Sparky swimming around me. [laugh] Didn't catch any keepers, over 16 in., but I did catch plenty of others. I usually try to keep track but this time I just caught em and released em and had a ball. My SWAG is maybe a dozen dinks and maybe 10 between 12-15 in. Next time I think I might try Condie again for the big uns. [

Sounds like fun. 16 inches is a pretty big size limit, what's a big bass over there? Nice thing about C&R, 1 inch under is about the same as 1 inch over. It's all good.

Nice report Fred! Glad you and Sparky had a good time.[cool]

Hi Leaky,
Its sure nice to be able to fish waters where boats are
not allowed.
Looks like you two had good time fishing and stuff. Just
keep at it.

[cool][#0000ff]Nice report. Glad you two "kids" had a good time playing in the water.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Too bad we have to travel so far in Utah to find some peaceful fishing conditions.[/#0000ff]

Actually, for me in Ogden, it isn't any further than a lot of Utah spots, less than 90 miles. Of course, there are closer spots in Ut. but either they are dog/fishing bud unfriendly and/or have boats, skiers, jet-skiers, etc., all over the place and aren't exactly considerate of a tuber and his dog, much less have good fishun to boot. [frown] Oh well, us older fishun (older than dirt [laugh] ) folks do it day by day and do it as easy as we can.

UINTA'S.......THOUSANDS of lakes, both tube and dog friendly. I go to a couple that maybe have 3 to 5 others on it and that is on a holiday.
No bass though, just Goldens, Rainbow, Albino, Grayling, Tiger Trout, and Brookies.
Did I mention I have caught 16" Brookie in one of the Lakes and a 19" Albino.
Or should I be saying a 3 to 4 lb Brookie and a 4 to 6 lb Albino....LOL
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

[cool][#0000ff]What are you trying to do? Ruin an old man that knows better than to mess with slimers?[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]This old man will trade you some wiper lessons for some inside info on a lake with decent brookies.[/#0000ff]

You do have a point!!!! [cool] Since I do tubing in the summer, it's just easier for this old fart to carry a tube to a shore than do the hiking required. You do have a point though as I said. Probably should try, but LM are better eatun, to me, so -------------. [crazy]

Better eating? I don't know I don't care for bass myself. A nice fresh caught trout is the ticket.
But now TD's SMOKIN' KITTY CHUNKS is darn good.
You do know that they have stocked the Snake with Bass. American Falls area I hear tell they got some size.
And I caught a 19" SM in the Shelly/Firth area.

Hey pretty, young, thing that is also a great fisher lady, We agree on one thing, kitty chunks whether they be TD's style or others are in fact, I must admit, better than bass. A far site better than slimmers. [laugh]
As it concerns your comment on American Falls, I've been trying to get up to Massacre Rock/Eagle Rock for 2 yrs. now. The main reason I haven't made it yet is high water conditions every time I can make it. Remember, it's either the bank or a tube for me so I assume American Falls is out of my league. However, if you have knowledge of where I can fish on the Res. that would be better, than I would owe you much thanks. [
