well they were just under the 24 inch limit. I wanted to try pike for the first time but cant seem to catch a decent limit size. Caught at Yellow Creek State Park. Pike are really freaking slimey had to use the glove to keep it from sliding all over the place cause the one slightly knicked me. Kept flopping out of my hands. The one i caught before wasnt as slimy as these were.

Yeah pike are slippy devils! and you really gotta watch those teeth. they will get ya. Everytime i fish for them i get bloody lol. what you need to handle those guys are a lipper. I got one and i dont care how much they flip out u will still have control.
Pike are the best eating fish IMO. I just had some this weekend, it was really good. If you wanna get some big pike use some spoons. They like shiny things. The best time to get a real big pike is in the spring right at ice off. thats when the big boys are in she shallows. This time of year they go deep. You will still get some of the smaller ones shallow but its rare to get a big one.
