Hello Everyone,

I travel back and forth between Utah and Reno on business and am an avid fly fisherman. I was hoping that some of you could give me some recomendations on which sections of the Truckee River on the Nevada side might be worthwhile.

Also any advice on what flies work best. I mostly nymph fish.

Dunno how it is now but I went to the U of Nev. back in the late 60s & at that time there were some nice browns in almost any hole you could find all the way through Reno & Sparks. I was never very successful east of Sparks though.

Take I-80 west to Verdi, and follow signs to park or look on map/GPS. Almost entirely locals fishin there it is fly and lure only.

Are you talking about the trophy section from the I-80 bridge upstream? Any particular information on flies that work that you'd be willing to share with me?
