[cool][#0000ff]Just a reminder...or a notice. We are planning to have a tubers and tooners get-together next Friday, 8/7/09 at the north marina at Willard Bay. The general plan is to fish all morning, fillet fish and then have a fish fry and potluck early afternoon.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Going to do a quick scouting trip on Wednesday to check out a couple of potential fishing spots. Will post a report and suggest a common meeting and eating area.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]TubeBabe and myself will be in charge of fish filleting and frying...and we will bring some fish dipping sauces. We may need a fish or two from other BFTers, but might be able to supply enough cats and wipers on our own...hopefully. Depends on how many plan to show up.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Looks like a good weather report. 88 degrees with light breezes. Perfect.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Need everybody to sound off if they plan to attend and how many will be in their vehicle. Also let us know what you can bring to the party. We won't need much. Drinks, chips, cole slaw, tater salad and maybe a baked bean dish or similar. Rolls or cornbread are other possibles.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Let's see who jumps in and then we can finalize plans later in the week.[/#0000ff]

My wife says count us in for the tater salad. Just need to know how many will be there so as to know how much to bring.[cool]

I am going to be stuck making fish food. We are so behind right now I can't get away. Ron

I am planning on being there, if you could give me a idea of what I need to bring a little later in the week after getting a better head count, It would be great. I will be by myself, and will be driving a full size pickup, if I can contribute some other way just let me know!!! Could you give me a idea of what I need in the way of tackle and gear, bait, lures, this is a totally new deal for me.[Smile]

[cool][#0000ff]It will be good to meet you. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]For wipers, bring med. light spin gear with 6# line and small plastics...1 1/2" - 3" in white or pearl...on 1/16 and 1/8 oz. heads. Small diving crankbaits in blue and chrome are good too.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]For catfish, bring minnows, worms or hotdogs. They will also hit lures when the fish are chasing shad. Med. light to medium action rods are best for fishing bait for both cats and wipers.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We might find some crappies. Throw small white jigs or fish them about 5 feet under a bobber.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Bring a walkie talkie and set it on channel 5. Also bring skeeter repellent and sunscreen.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We will probably have a better handle on who will be attending by midweek, and I will be doing a fishing checkout also. [/#0000ff]

My sister called and said she is flying in Thursday from NY to collect her belongings in my garage.
Talk about lousy timing. Stuff has been there all year but this is the week she wants it.
I was so counting on joining you all, dang it!
[signature]
I will be there. I have my own vehicle and state park pass. I could bring drinks though I would need a bit of refinement on what "drinks" means for the group of people attending. For me, just to give example, a good cold drink is an iced can of coke or in a pinch some other soda...
[signature]
[cool][#0000ff]Welcome aboard and we appreciate your kind offer. Though some of us enjoy something stronger, there is no need to bring anything more than soft drinks or even cold water.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]As I advised in my PM to you, we will plan to get things underway early, for the best fishing. The gate opens at 6 and we will probably set up at the far SE corner of the north marina. There are a couple of covered tables there where we can set up our stuff to hold them for us while we fish. We can come back in about noon or before, to fillet fish and get ready for the fish fry. If conditions are right, we can catch plenty of fish inside the marina, within easy view of our "camp". I will be checking that out on Wednesday and will post a report.[/#0000ff]

Right now I will be joining albinotrout and there will be about 8 of us total. We will have the tater salad.

[cool][#0000ff]Great. Hope all of the ingredients are properly cut to size and color coordinated. (Sorry)[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Look forward to meeting you.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Hey guys...and gals. Weather forecast for Friday is "iffy"...front moving in, wind and a chance of thundershowers. Also a full moon. Fishing is liable to be less than stellar and it will be tough tubing.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Not sure I wanna play in those conditions.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I know there are some potential scheduling conflicts after this week with albinotrout and others. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Any suggestions? Alternate dates?[/#0000ff]
[signature]
[cool]I will be at Jordanelle 17-21 if anyone interested. I have site 77 reserved for 4 nights, otherwise make it mon or tues the following week on 10th or 11th. [shocked] I was just reminded by mamatrout that she has a dr appt on the 10th in the am. We wouldn't be able to do anything until the afternoon of the 10th. So looks like tues the 11th best for me unless you want to do it near the end of the month.[Image: dumb.gif][Image: dumb.gif]

Hmm, bummer on the weather forecast. I'm not sure I have any real conflicts to worry about if the event is rescheduled as my schedule is pretty easy.
[signature]
[cool][#0000ff]We have an off and on schedule over the next couple of weeks.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Best shot for us might be Friday the 28th. Does that work for you?[/#0000ff]
[signature]
That date would work for me just fine.
[signature]

icedike

I could make it on the 28th of august.
[signature]
[cool][#0000ff]I have marked August 28th on my calendar as the BFT Floatilla date.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Now, as to venue. Since it is unlikely that we will get any Idaho tubers (spuds) down here for the gathering, Willard is not so much a consideration. How about making the festivities at Lincoln Beach, on Utah Lake? Nice facilities, no entrance fees and usually good fishing. The end of August is about the time the walleyes start getting active and the big cats go on the prowl for their fall feed.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Anybody else have any ideas...such as Starvation, Yuba or whatever?[/#0000ff]
[signature]
I would be thrilled to join you at Utah Lake on the 28th - if I'm invited that is. I don't want to horn in on your party, but it would be great to join all of you for some fishing, learning and food.

Lemme know.
