Hit Strawberry today with my grandson and nkunz. Fished blind for the first 2 1/2 hours.[mad] Fishfinder finally fired up around 10:00 AM and then shortly thereafter I discovered I had a loose wire from the battery and after discovering that the fishfinder worked the rest of the day. It was a little slower than usual -- we probably landed just over 30 fish. All except for two (which I caught on whole minnow drop shotting) were caught on tubes tipped with minnows that were vertically jigged or casted and bounced off the bottom back to the boat. My grandson took large-fish honors when he caught his largest fish so far -- a nice 24 inch cutt.

Hey Kent,
When you guys held that fish up, I couldn't see the fish very well because of the big Smile on the grandson's face!

Good for him! I'll bet that was exciting!

Cousin and I did about the same as you guys, we ended up with 33 fish for the day, two of which were rainbows. No over the slot cutts for us, but we did have a couple that went almost exactly 22 inches.

Hey congrats to the little guy on that nice fish, Did you weigh it by chance? I got a couple that size through the ice but never weighed them. I have wondered how much they weighed.

I realized too late that I should have weighed it. I would guess 5 pounds would be really close.

we weighed this one, was only 20 inches and was 3 lb, i bet his is close to 5

Congrats to your grandson! That is a nice cutt.
