[fishin][#bf0000] havent had much luck with bass fishing this year.... but this day was different!!! fish monger and myself hit rockport at about 8 am(late start) but no matter there was a good feeling in the boat as we set off in search of the golden smallie!! ive caught quite a few in my days but mostly at gorge and powell.. and mostly on curly tails... anyways back to rockport!!! started out flipping a pumpkin colored 3" curly tail with no luck.... tied on a fire tiger and bam!!!! bam... bam... bam... bam! u get the idea!!! what a morning... my buddie fish monger has only caught 1 bass EVER!!! caught two today! we also hooked a double on some trout while floating out in about 95 ft of water! fish were about 25-30 ft deep! nice bows!! no real big smallies one about 12-13 in! one almost looked like gold! anyways rockport is still red hot small mouth fishing... amen!!! enjoy the pics!!!!!!! all in all we got 9 smallies and two fat bows!! gr8 saturday p.s the fire tiger crank bait worked gr8 early... any suggestions for when the bass move deeper!!!! senkos, jigs, spinners, craw imitations etc....... thx all[/#bf0000]

Try drop shotting while using your electronics for deeper bass. We always do well with that technique[Smile]

[fishin][#bf0000] thx for the reply bubba... not familiar with drop shotting but it sounds easy enough! what works well at rockport... senko worms, jigs, crawdads? what type of pattern? im sure noone wants to give away their best kept secrets.... lol! any advice will help... pretty new to bass fishing! thx again burt! happy fishing to ya[/#bf0000]
