Went up to the middle fork of the Boise yesterday. Heck of a good time. There were two of us fly fishing, two spinner fishing. Fly fishers were the only one catching fish. Hoppers! They are everywhere up there. I caught 4 in the few hours I was up there, my friend caught 2. Trout were handing around the banks waiting for terrestrials. There was a hatch closer towards the evening. Smaller yellow looking insects. I wish I could name them.

Neither spinners, nor worms worked for the spin fishing guys. A friend was on the north fork yesterday and had luck with spinners over there.

Fish were all under 14 inches. I fished closer to Arrowrock per posted advice. just after the first wood bridge.

Now if only I hadn't gone swimming in my waders and torn an big hole in the knee![crazy]

Hey, congrats!! Man, those Middle Fork fish do love their hoppers. I've seen them scooot half way across the river to nail one. It should just get better as the season progresses. The spinning guys would do better on the North Fork; worms or eggs do well there. Mike
