Fishing Willard has been tough the past month for me.. A buddy and I finally had a decent night. We kept seeing boils but by the time we would get close enough to them to cast they were over and fish had moved. Any tricks to get close to them? I was moving around with my electric but I can only go about 2 mph. We had to go back to our old reliable fishing technique to actually catch any.

There's nothing you can do until they thin the shad out a bit,At that point there will be more wipers attacking the schools of shad,it's really close so hang in there.
Once the shad hit a certain size they tend to school up in bigger schools, then the wipers will feed on them for longer periods, the schools now are small and thats why the boils aren't lasting very long.seems like where at least a month off of the normal action. should be any time, this cold front should help if you can fish ahead of it.

My thoughts, exactly.
It won't be long now.
Now if I were catching nice fish like that, I wouldn't care about boils. Those are nice wipers, real nice.

i noticed thousands of shad cruising the bank last week that were 1-3 inches long so my guess is it wont be long either maybe another week

Well dont feel bad because I think all of use are having the same kind of success.
You must have something figured out to be able to catch some, when know one else seems to be able to catch any.
My dad was saying his arm was going to fall off by the time we left,he is not use to casting that long with a spinning rig.
Thanks for sharing the pics, let use know how you do next time out.
