[cool][#0000ff]While out fishing yesterday I took a couple of pics to share, showing off a couple of new things and one of the uses of my rigid apron...my "sushi board"...cutting bait for catfish.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I fashioned a new "utility rack"...to hold pliers, knife, active rod and net. So far it works great. I used a heat gun to flatten and form the 1" schedule 20 PVC for the pliers and the knife. I got tired of fighting with the sheath on the knife so I just made the PVC tube into the sheath. It and the pliers tubes are both squeezed (while soft from heat) into a semi tight fit. That makes it possible to put the tools in the tubes, but they sorta snap in and are held firmly without straps.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The tube for the short handled net is not glued in. It rotates back out of the way while fishing but can be easily rotated forward while fighting a fish...ready for action when needed.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Also, note the new "close-in" design for the bait rigger rod holders. One has a 1" vertical tube support whereas the other is a more compact 1/2" PVC tube. I plan to make them both 1/2". Very easy to adjust for upward tilt and outward positioning. But, you need to pin/screw them in place so that fish do not pull them down and remove the rods. A careful adjustment allows maximum spread and presentation but plenty of security against accidental loss of a rod. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]You can also see that I have attached the plastic handle line clips to the T connectors, so that I can use a variety of lengths or shapes of front rod tubes...and the clips will work for any of them.[/#0000ff]
