Well Shane and I wanted to hit Parksville this evening because of the hotter weather over the past week. We were expecting to catch quite a few and we did.
I havent been fishing much in the last 10 days other than a couple ponds, so I was ready to get out on the lake!

Launched the boat close to 5 this evening and fished until 8 as we got ran off by a Smokey MTN storm that was coming west towards us... emoDoh

We started off throwning lightweight texas rigged finesse worms. Picked up 7-8 fish in an hour, then decided to try for topwater.

So we hit some of my usual topwater hot spots, throwing toads... we managed another 5-6 fish in the next 2 hours emoDoh
Should have been more but the fish would not get the bait in their mouths tonight. Had one big momma break my braid soon after I set the hook close to the boat, it jumped once spitting the toad out after the line break. It was a largemouth from what we could see... looked to be a 6-7 pound fish if it had the belly. That was the first time Ive had any fish break 30LB Stren braid. Line aroud the knot must have been weak... emoBawl emoVomit

Soon after losing that fish, I hook up with another small largemouth that didnt measure. Then we heard the thunder emoRolleyes

By far my best trip to Parksville in the last 2 months... I hope its coming back with the warmer weather.

4 out of the 13 fish were solid keepers (for Parksville of course) / 3 spots and a largemouth. They wouldve gone 8-9lbs... 4 of the 13 bass were largemouth... today was the first time since June I have caught a largemouth on Parksville. So thats all good. Ready to get back up there, hopefully on Sunday. emoToast
