Minnetonka, Minnesota - North American Media Group's television shows, North American Fisherman and North American Hunter were voted recently in the top five favorites out of more than 70 shows in Versus Television Network's outdoor programming line up. "This is a great honor for us," shared Steve Pennaz, Asst. Vice President of Television & Outdoor Media at NAMG and show host. "There are a lot of really great programs on Versus and to be in the top five for both our shows is a testimony to the quality of the productions as well as how much the content resonates with viewers."
Both shows are magazine style programs with a number of regular segments, highlighting top destinations and expert tips. "North American Fisherman TV" runs 20 weeks from January through May, and has been on the air since 1998. Unique segments to NAF-TV are Doc Talk and, new the last two years, Knot Wars.
Doc Talk invites Dr. Hal Schramm to add the biological side of fishing to the show. By far, the most popular change in the show's format has been the addition of Knot Wars. With high-tech graphics, the viewer is instructed step-by-step on how to tie two of fishing's best knots. Then the knots are submitted to a head-to-head battle to see which one is the strongest. "Knot Wars is an extremely popular feature in the show," shared Pennaz. "We know that it has a lot of internet interest after the shows air, also."
"North American Hunter Television" runs 32 weeks from May through December each year. NAH-TV has always had fantastic hunting destinations with a viewer engaged portion of the show entitled You Call The Shots. "You Call the Shots is a way for the viewer to get right in the middle of a hunting situation," shared Bill Miller, Vice President of Media Development and Production at NAMG and NAH-TV host. "The stage is set with specific conditions of distance from the game, wind or other weather elements and type of firearm or bow. The viewer is encouraged to call it -- take the shot or don't take the shot. That really invites them into the show experience and allows them to engage with it. It is definitely one of the favorite parts of NAH-TV." Expert tips are also a key part of helping the viewer grow in their skill and confidence, which has always been a goal of NAH-TV.
North American Hunter and North American Fisherman air five times each week exclusively on Versus Television Network, home to the best outdoor television anywhere. The shows provide entertainment and education, and enjoy a reputation with a long history of television production awards. NAMG is the media division of North American Membership Group, Inc.
