Decided to rescue my nephews from a boring afternoon of attending a baby shower with their mom today. The neighbor let me borrow an old boat he's had sitting around unused for years. After making several repairs to both the boat and trailer we hit the water bout 4pm. I didn't get much of an opportunity to fish as the kids kept me busy helping them but they slayed em today. The oldest caught himself a nice largemouth bass. They both hooked up with several larger blue gill. We pretty much just drifted across the middle of the reservoir in the deeper water. I had the kids dragging a worm behind a little leader and a small sinker. The drifting became necessary after I tried to anchor up at our first hole when the anchor rope snapped as soon as the anchor hit bottom and tried to tighten up the boat. Guess I should have noticed the rotten rope eh. But it worked in our favor so its all good. It was great seeing the kids enjoy themselves. Their dad doesn't fish so they don't have many opportunities to do so either but loved every minute of it today. Picture quality not so good sorry.

Your story made me chuckle though.

We went to Mantua yesterday also. We anchored out in the middle as it was a little breezy. Anchor was holding great for a couple hours tied off on the boat cleat. Then all of a sudden it comes loose and gone. Glad we had another anchor. We then moved to a different spot and fished for an hour or so more. Then as I'm pulling in the anchor I see tangled in the huge weed clump with our anchor rope is what-do-you-know 'another' anchor rope. The anchor we lost was a fluted one this one we got was a mushroom style anchor. So we lost an anchor and got one back.

Anyway nice look'n litte boat I like the colors and good on you for get'n them boys out. They won't forgot the great time they had. They got some nice look'n fish to boot.
