Friday, 08/21/09- Hit the water about 5pm. Hot has heck. Nice flat ride to Gov't Wash. Hoping to run into stripers feeding on the surface........nothing. Ended up catching two fish in the back of a cove.

Whats up with the lack of boils this summer? Seems like its not quite as hot fishin as it was last year... maybe they are late to start this year. I bet sept and oct are gonna be great.

I hope you are right. I keep thinking the boils are happening when I'm not around. [crazy] Last two trips to Lake Mead resulted in four stripers total!

[cool]Same thing is happening to my buddy at Silverwood lake in calif. Normally he is hitting boils left and right this time of year. As of yet he hasn't seen any and he fishes that lake four times a week.

I may be going crazy, but I think a bit of climate change is affecting us, and I believe that it is being caused by a magnetic pole shift .... Don't get me started.
Anyway, this last winter, I was out at the lake regularly, and I was going out in shorts and a t-shirt until christmas day.
I remember as a kid out here, it would be cold by Halloween. We always had to adjust our costumes because it was too damn cold to walk around at night. I took my daughter trick-or-treating last year, and walked around in shorts and a t-shirt comfortably.
The stripers were also actively boiling until January.
It used to be late July when they started heavily pack-feeding.
Maybe my memory is foggy, but these past couple years have been a little strange.
