Went out for a couple of hours Sunday afternoon with a buddy started out fishing the grass trying to get a topwater bite with only a couple offerings one which was about a 2 to 2.5lb keeper but that was it for the grass. Then we headed to another spot that I haven't visited in a while fished for about 15 minutes and tada 4lbs 10oz my skunk was off not to mention my bigest fish in a while as a matter of fact. We hung around the area for a little while because we kept seeing fish on the graph along with some bait fish and right before we left caught another one pushing 3 to 3.5lbs. All in all it was a slow day early and we probablly left about the time they were starting to bite but that is how it goes. We caught them shallow less than 3 feet in the grass on a frog and we caught them deep 18 to 22 feet on a jig. Water temps varied depending on where we were at and ranged from 82 to 85 in the shallows and held a little more steady in the deeper water around 81. It was pretty windy and with the combo of the Cruisers was hard to stay on any one spot but it was still fun and a wonderful evening to be out any way you look at it.
