Fished Glendale yesterday. We got there a little after 12. It was overcast, but still fairly warm. We did ok for awhile -- caught some crappie --- but when there got to be 4 or 5 ski boats running up and down, the fish quit biting. The water got very murky, and we never got another hit on anything. Is this pretty much the norm? Anyone else experience this? If so I think we will stick to fishing it only very early on in the day. Then too it could have just been my karma!
We fished the shore across from the boat ramp. Are there better places to start at?
For those with boats ----The water level was down. The end of the concrete on the boat ramp was a couple of feet out of the water.

Wow what a great day yesterday at Glendale. we got 30 huge i mean huge crappie and bluegill. Fish and game CO stopped by just as we started cleaning them and said he hadnt seen that big of fish out of glenndale ever. He took pics for the record and recorded the creel information. I have a couple pics of the slabs and one of one of the bluegill. Ill get it posted as soon as i can figure out how to resize it to fit here. Any how one gill was 9 1/2 inches long but weighed over pound and a half and a bunch more were close to it. The crappie ranged in size from 8-10 with a few going 12 inces. I know that doesnt sound big, but they were damn fat. Biggest slabs ive taken from around here ever [cool]
I know this is gonna get the interest up, wont say where on the resevoir i got them but, took them on a multi color jig, red, white, and chartruese color tiped with worm and was trolling. Tried to stop when we got in a school but wouldnt hit, so started trolling again and started to pic them up.
As for the boat ramp, the cement is still under water, just covered with mud so it looks like it ends. The boat dock has the last quarter still in the water but man its down. But hot hot hot fishing. No water skiers and only counted 3 other boats on reseovir, and they didnt stay long as they werent catching anything.
Good luck to ya all, time to take some nice slabs.

what no boaters!!! I almost never fish glendale in the summer for that reason but it seems every year after school starts back up the boats seem to thin out. i didnt get the chance to get into any crappie this spring so hopefuly i will soon. I would love to see a picture of that gill ones that big are far and few and fight like a hog.

The bluegill in there are really healthy. I caught this one in the spring wading the shallows with a 10 foot crappie pole. I love the big humped back they get. Now that the boaters are gone I may have to give it a try again.

Good catch!!
I wish we had gotten on the water when there were no boaters. I will know better next time.
It looks like you really struck it big. Congratulations!
