Yesterday I had an opening day snook fishing trip with my father and our good friends Louis, Oliver, and Capt. Ben Espinoza. We decided to fish around Boynton Inlet, hoping for a lack of crowds trying to catch snook on opening day of the season. We had the pleasure of being the only boat snook fishing the whole time we were there! After catching about 4 dozen sardines and pilchards the tide was picking up and we anticipated a very good ebb tide bite! Sure enough, lines went in the water just before 10 am and Oliver was immediately tight to a nice overslot female linesider that had his drag screaming. Madness ensued as hoardes of hungry barracudas and big snook crashed our live baits one after another. For the next hour and a half the snook bite stayed solid and we had a blast with double hookups and some near 40" fish brought to the boat. In the end, we were able to ice down 2 fish that were 30" and 31", which was enough to keep us all happy for dinner. Thanks Dad for the memorable trip! Here is the link to the video:
