Well maybie you need to be a little more specific. DC as in Dear Creek Utah or Washington DC? Its also labor day weekend. Possibley not too many people around to imediatly answer your question as fast as you think they should?

Im new here my self but I have never even seen a thread that turned into any kind of auguement! Differing opionons possibley but never an arguement.

I have found nothing but great people here willing to help with almost anything.

I don't think getting huffy and storming off because you didn't get what you want is going to buy you a lot of support for your cause. Just sayin'.

Certainly not impressed with someone who makes a post at 10:32 PM, on a Saturday evening, asking for help and then gripes and chastises "everyone" about not receiving any replies, [#bf0000]at 8:14 AM the next morning[/#bf0000]! With an attitude like that, I certainly would not jump at the opportunity to offer any assistance (assuming I had any). BTW, also please turn off your caps lock.

Thanks Kent,
That's about what I was going to say, but you said it nicer.

Eye chaser,
I don't fish DC much but here is what I would do.
1st, read Tube Dude's post on DC from earlier this week. There is always good information in a TD post. http://www.bigfishtackle.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=528060;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;page=unread#unread He's not afraid to share time of day, where fished, what was caught and on what it was caught, often with pics of the places and lures used.
2nd, just go, don't wait for someone else to say where or how or on what, just get out there and check it out, bring worms, frozen minnows if you have them, jigs, bobbers, spinning lures, crankbaits, what ever you have. Stop along the road and fish, you can't catch anything if you don't have a hook and line in the water.
3rd, when you ask questions, give information that will help to help you. More than "I'm gonna hit the shore tomorrow" Information on what your after would help, Walleye? Perch? Trout? Bass? Anything that swims including carp and chubs?
Are you spin fishing, fly fishing, fishing for fun or meat? Do you like to sit in a chair with a 6 pack and soak or are you more of a walk the shoreline and constantly cast kind of fisher. Do you have a state parks pass or not want to spend any $ for access?
All information that can help us help you.
Like Madfisher said, it's a holiday and being the last holiday I suspect many members are in places with no electricity, let alone internet access. That will show on tuesday when we see how many posts are from Mill Creek, Schofield, the Berry, Currant Creek and other places a few hours away with camping.
Till then you will have to put up with those of us on a stay-cation, like yourself.
Now, about DC, I havn't fished it since the water was up and I fished from the Charlston Bridge using red power balls and did great. That area where the river comes in can always be worth a try. The pull out between Charlston and the island is often a good place to sit a while but gets pressure. The island is also good, I like the east side best.
The Wallsburg arm is also a good place, but I think the best fishing is on the other side of the lake, it is hard to get to though, quite a hike from about anywhere.

Also, there are ways you can find out some things for yourself, check the camera at http://www.livelakeview.com/lakes/deercreek/
the cam can help you determine water levels and how crowded the lake is as well as weather conditions.

Any other help I can give you let me know, but ask early and ask nice. No more bad attitudes, they don't go well with fishing.

Eyechaser,
Glad you did well. Part of what I was saying is that it would have helped for us to know you were taking your wife and 20 month old. I would have hated to tell you to park at the tracks by Charleston and hike to the lake or send you off down some steep embankment with them in tow, and would have more likely directed you to the Island beach that has rest rooms and shade to make them comfortable.
If you want to leave the site never to return, that's your choice, but it is a good site and of the other sites that cover fishing in UT, you will find none as active or with more people willing to help.
As far as arguments go, there are alot of Angry people in America these days. Pity to them, life is to short, I don't open their posts and often skip their comments when they are in another members post. Fishing is to relaxing to have them anywhere near me or even in my head when I fish.
Fishing is relief for me, I don't want to fish with Angry or combative people.

Glad you did well, I suspect you were out the door before I ever read your request for help.

Where did you end up going, using and what did you limit on?

WAAAAAAAA,Waaaaaaa,Waaaaa. wipe off the tears and get over it. I cant believe that something this petty can make you not want to be a part of this site. I do feel bad for you thought, just not in the way that you might have hoped with your pity thread.[crazy][crazy]

sorry for all the anger! thats why i got that whay cause i havn't been fishin in awhile i usually fish at least 150 day a year i have only got in about half that so i apoligize to all! i fished just north of island on the rocks till the kid got tired landed three bows on rainbow power bait then hit the bridge hit both sides of it while ma and kid took a nap got 4 bows and nice brown all on gold #2 blue fox! all the bows were around 15 16 " the brown about the same, i know it's just another fish story but had a brown on for a few secs watched jump all over and strip my drag and then spit the spinner right at my face (duck) it was pushing 20" for a good guess. once again sorry to all just havn't got my therapy in = fishing

Your a fish addict and you are having withdrawls... Understandable. I had them a week ago friday, I had to take the wife to the airport friday morning and missed out on fishing friday... But made up for it and went out all day saturday..... It calmed me right down.... Once a week or I am on edge all day also..... see you on the water....

actually FOD its [#ff0000].... No need for name calling -- Kent [/#ff0000]like you why i dont like to post here because of your childish comments and other like you
[signature]
Oh, I believe you on the brown, that strech of river has some huge fish move up into it in the fall. We are into Sept. and the days are getting shorter and the fish know it. I have post holed through snow up to my crotch to fish that part of the river and left thinking it was well worth it.

Remember, let go of your anger, that is the dark side, do not even respond to those who annoy you. You have a wife and a 20 month old, what a lucky person you are to have those things to live and prosper for. Soon the little one will be standing on a chair imitating the bass fishers you watch together on TV! What a joyful time of life, fishing just makes it better, catching is just a double layer of frosting on the cake you already have going for you.

150 days a year? Forget all I said above, you inhale deeply! Get a job![Wink]

Take some advise, people are trying to help you, ya dont always have to jump the gun every time. I am not attacking you just trying to let in on how absurd your being. One thing about fishing that is most important is patience. I am sure having a young kid is tough and might get you wound up sometimes, but you dont have to take it out on everybody on this forum. Go fishing and be patient with BFT and you might learn something and start making friends.

PS: Was that comment Childish? Ooorrrr was the edited post above closer to being childish?

hmmmmmm lets think about this........red text......and deleted childishness.
