Fished Cascade yesterday, following Tackle Tom's rec's to the tee: fish Crown Point area, 18-20 ft. with Ford Fenders and Wedding Rings w/ worm. Nada. Graphed very few fish. Since our only strike came when we were pulling the lead core in and were only about 20 ft. back, we shortened up the d.r.ers, but still nothing. The one strike could very well have been a perch. Talked to a local who had fished it hard the previous day, and caught one 20"er, and 5 perch trolling with above-mentioned gear. Said the perch were all 12"+. Not the first time I have chased rumors to Cascade, with poor results! Mike

Thanks for the report, Mike. Save someone a trip up...
Heard anything about C.J. trout? I'm waiting with anticipation of a good fall season for bows. They were numerous last year both spring and fall so let's hope its the same this year. Maybe they'll be bigger like 2005 fall season. I suspect it still has to cool off some. [

My wife & I will be at the Inn there for a married couples weekend, my wife thought we should take our rods with to use during our free time when we are in their canoes, any suggestions?

Yeah, Michael. I would consider either fishing for perch or bass. Sort of depends on where you are located on the lake. . The perch are quite large this year. They are pretty tight on the shore. Anywhere from 8-20 feet should work. Good luck and enjoy your weekend. Mike
P.S.: You might consider taking your 'toon over to Horsethief. I hear it is coming on.

I agree, Burt. CJ is probably still too warm. Cascade was still 63 degrees. I am sending you a PM.
