[cool][#0000ff]4 of us tubing and tooning types ganged up on Bunny Gulch this morning. Mid fifties morning temp with water temp at 64. Warmed up to 67 by 1 pm departure. Only light breezes off and on through the morning, with long stretches of glass. Fine fun.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]There was Wildcat94, Waljustia, Parrmark and my own self. Got launched by about 7:30 and everybody went in different directions. I outsmarted myself and headed to the shallow end, figuring it was time for some predators to start chasing perchlets in skinny water. WRONGO. I wasted a lot of time in optimistic prospecting before working back to the deeper water and smacking some perchies. Lots of smaller fish today, with only a few basket fish (over 10 inches) in the mix. No wallies for me today. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]But, I did get in a good "shakedown" cruise on my replacement Fat Cat...after retiring the road kill victim from a couple of weeks ago. All of the new PVC designs worked great, as did the new molded plastic seat from a stack chair. I caught fish on several different lures, but again the "Fligs" produced the most keepers. I ended up keeping about 7 and tossing back a fair number of smaller perch. Nobody caught any smallies today.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Wildcat94 got two walleyes, with his 21 incher taking top honors for big fish. Also got a fair basket of porky perch. Waljustia got a couple of walleyes also, including a 15 incher as his largest. He also scored enough decent perch for a good meal. Parrmark brought in a basket of 20 perch, although some of them were smaller than others of us might "discard". But, as nice and healthy as those perchies are even the smaller ones gave up nice fillets.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You could sure tell that the Classic Tournament is coming up. Quite a few boats working over Bunny Gulch today. The ones I talked to had not enjoyed much success on anything besides pesky perch. Hope Mama Nature behaves and doesn't mess up the festivities.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I think we all had a good time and enjoyed fishing with each other. Some new meetups in our little group and we will probably do it again some more.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]No excuse should ever be needed for a fishing trip. Only an excuse why you didn't go when you had the opportunity. Like they say about other things, miss a fishing trip and you are one behind for the rest of your life. You can never make 'em up.[/#0000ff]
