Mods sorry for a political post in the hunting forum, but I am so pissed off at this I can’t think straight.

Our Communist Mesiah was lucky enough to get one of his radical Czars through confirmation yesterday.

This idiot’s name is Cass Sunstein. He is now the head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. The OIRA has authority over federal regulations, including those of the Department of the Interior and its U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Department of Agriculture, Endangered Species, Forest Service and BLM.

Now here is why this confirmation is of concern to Sportsman. This idiot is so anti hunting it is silly. This guy believes that animals should have rights and that they should be able to sue humans in a court of law. He also believes that hunting should be outright banned. He is also on record saying “We might ban hunting altogether, at least if it’s sole purpose is human recreation”.

Now this idiot will have the power in the federal government to attempt his dream.

His confirmation yesterday in the senate was on a pure party line vote with all Republicans voting against him, and all but two Democrats voting for him.

Would any of you “Sportsman” who may have voted for this leader of ours care to offer an explanation of why it is Ok for this appointment?

I hear ya Braz. It frustrates me to no end. If anyone knows where southernman and/or catman are I'd like to hear them explain this out to the masses. They both hunt and swore before the election that the elitist mesiah didn't want our guns or our hunting rights.

I'm still around. [cool] Just don't post as often now. Too busy.

Anyway, I never ever said that Obama didn't want our guns. Here's a quote from one of my previous posts:

" I have several concerns with Obama, for example his views on gun control. However, invading other countries and causing thousands of deaths of our troops and Iraqi citizens in a 'pre-emptive' attack really goes against my moral compass. What if North Korea, Iran, or even Russia decided that we were a threat (noone denies WE have weapons of mass destruction), and decided to attack us preemptively? It's a very slippery slope."

Here's another of my older posts:

"My biggest concern with Obama is his stance on gun control. I believe in the second amendment and the right it gives us to keep and bear arms, and while some safety measures need to be in place, I think he leans to far to restricting our rights."

If you'll remember in this thread, I actually argued with you against SM. Just setting the record straight. [:p][cool]

Want a clue as to who I ended up voting for? I posted about it:

"Might be time to vote for some obscure 3rd party. Hey I might even write in Mickey Mouse at this point. Couldn't be much worse than what we've got for Pres. for the last 15 1/2 years." [:p][cool]

My big issues were with Bush's foreign policy and McCain was too much of the same. Biggest concern with Obama was gun control.

[Wink]Hey man glad you dropped in. The way I remember it was that you were voting for him because you felt he was the lesser of the two evils, in spite of your worries over his gun control tendancies. So, did you end up voting for Obama? If not, sorry I catagorized you as such. If you did, why did you go against everything you feared in obama's policies particulalry in regards to gun control? I fear that when it comes to what's best for sportsmen /women there's no doubt who DIDNT have our best interests in mind, yet some sportsmen / women still voted for him. Just respectfully wondering why?

Love a bumper sticker I seen the other day, "Don't Blame Me, I Voted For The American". [cool]

You are correct. I did vote for him, in spite of my worries about gun control. So far, while not perfect, I think his foreign policy has been pretty good, and way better than Bush. The whole Healthcare thing is a mess no matter what way you look at it, and the 'Bailouts' from both Bush and Obama have been quite disappointing.

I voted for him because I didn't want to see our country continuing in the same path Bush did. Who knows, if McCain were in there we'd probably be at war with Iran right now too.

We really need a third party in this country...

Gotta love that bumper sticker[Wink]
