Earlier this spring I bought a 2003 package deal from Tracker thru a local dealer
I have had problems getting the boat to come up on plane. The package motor
a Merc. 40hp just does not have the balls to handle the new design that Tracker
came up with for 2003. Even with prop changes the rpm's came up but the boat
didn't. I recomend that if you are going to buy a package boat, do not go with the standard [black][/black] [black][/black]
motor. Upgrade right from the start. I have worked out a deal with my local
dealer so the upgarde was not to painful on my wallet. They originally wanted
to depreciate my 40hp and I wouldn't stand for that. But I do have to pay again
for a new install and the upgrade to a 60hp Merc. By the way the new wider and deeper design
makes for a very fishable boat and handles ruff water easily. Tracker has a good product
but needs to rethink the power. Chief.
