Well, no luck so far for getting donations or anything for the 1st annual Bear lake October Mack hunt! Yep, thats what I will call it for now....geeesh!
Let's just plan to show up, fish, and get together at lunch time to BS and share a snack or two.
Sorry for the lack of detailed planning or organization but realy, let's just go fish and have fun.
Coot my dear friend, I could never disrespect you or the event you started so I will back off of this and call it what it realy is going to be.
All are welcome 10 October 2009!

What are you planning on bringing for snacks this year? I'm not sure but I need to come up with something new? Seems like last year I brought the same thing as you, pepperjack cheese and summer sausage[
]. Are you planning on doing the same thing this year as in years past, getting together between 11am & 12 noon?

I kind of wish you would stick with "7th Annual Bear Lake Salsa Boyz Party". I'd be good with that. Only difference is that it is being held a month earlier than other years ... which ought to be even better for catching a mack. I just wish that I didn't have to work that day. I'd be up there with you guys.
Let me know how Scott's hot bread and Bear Lake raspberry jam is.
Call it what you want. Me doing one at the Berry doesn't have to break the Bear Lake tradition.

Coot,
Wish you were coming too, won't be the same. I don't want to call this anything but a get together...no prizes, no theme, no nothing. Just a time out on the blue to fish and get together for a snack/chat!
WH,
I am tired of the cheese/sauage thing but it is easy. Not sure if I am clever enough to come up with anything too grand. I do have homemade salsa though. I have been thinking about it though and may come up with something good, who knows.

When we first started the Salza boys seven years ago, all we brought was salsa and chips, so that is always a good place to start. Since then members have brought deer, elk, beef sausage. Many different types of cheese. Pickled eggs and peppers. The list goes on and on but you can pretty much bring what ever you want to eat and share with others. Hope to see you there.

Bring anything or nothing we are an easy group of folks.
Some ideas if you want to bring something:
Chips/salsa, crackers, cheese, meats, finger sandwiches, assorted deserts like cookies or brownies. Anything that is easy and workable from a boat.
Dan,
I am not sure how many are coming but I would say that there may be 15-20 boats?????

I'll be there with a friend or two. Don't know what I'll bring but I'll think of something...

I'm planning on it. I just found out the lake trout are starting to show up off the marina in Garden City, so we should be just about right on the timing.

Cool sounds fun I am going to try and make it up there, me and one of my buddies! look for us in a 12 foot fiberglass dingy!

I’ll be there with several bottles of pickled peppers. I just finished make some fresh salsa. I have one pint with several hot peppers, by Saturday it should be good and tasty. [:p]

I told my fishing partner that you might have those habenjero's up here again and he just said, don't volunteer me to try on this time. He ate two last year and that was two-too many! And this is a guy who eats jalapenos like most people eat pickles! I still think of the expression (and color) on Ol Coot's face after he ate one last year. As the saying goes, it was priceless! I've NEVER seen anyone that red before in my life!~

you think that was good scott you should have seen coot do it again last weekend at strawberry, the old B____ never learns

I will NOT be eating any of those peppers! LOL
Still stewing over what to bring but I will come up with something.
I plan to be at the State Marina early (6 am) and would like to meet all of you that are coming and try to jot down your names and such for posts and reference. Please find me and say hello if you can. I have a silver Isuzu and an old old aluminum 16 footer. I will have a BFT flag on a pole so look for that. I plan to launch at day light so I will be just hanging out for a while.
I figure we can hook up boats around 11 or so, maybe one of you can sound out an airhorn for us at that time and we will converge outside the rock pile area.
I will be up there Thursday and hope to pre fish Friday but who knows.
Tnx,
Pat
