When fishing inlets and bays always fish the tides. The best times are two hours before and two hours after the change.
On incomig tides, using just enough weight to hold the bottom, fish on the edge of channels allowing the tide to carry your bait onto the flats where fish will lay waiting for
food to be broght up to them by the tide.
The opposite will occur on the outgoing. Put your bait on the edge of the flats and allow your bait to be drawn down into the channel where fish will be staging for an easy meal.
