When bottom fishing for catfish, anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid having the bait picked off by crawdads? I fish from shore, so the spreader type rigs don't do much for me.

Try chicken liver wrapped with pantyhose, then rig it up on your hook. Will keep your livers in and crawfish out.
