So i'm taking it that to get any help on this forum you have to jerk someone off how lame I thought this was to gain knowledge and help one another.. I wish tube dude was a hunter he is always down to share knowledge..

We have some hunters here, but it is not a huge part of the BFT utah site. If there were guys here with a little knowledge, most would share a little. Sorry you didn't get the help you were looking for.

Nice[frown]
Excellent way to have any chance of getting ANY help now or in the future. Anybody that has info on General season areas that are good keep their mouths shut. It is not on a priority list to give out info to every "jerk-off" on a fishing forum. I plan on us killing 3 bulls with our 3 tags this weekend. I am damn sure not going to give out any information to someone i don't trust. Do your homework and scout the area or ask on another forum that have people who think they know what they're talking about.[frown]

Wow. Really? haha
Don't expect people to just throw their hunting spots out there for ya. A lot of us spend months ahead of time and even years and many sacrifices and lots of fuel finding good hunting areas. I'm sure i'm not the only one that's ready to just give it away to some stranger. It's nice to get a little help from time to time but don't be one of those guys that just looks at maps and expects somebody else to find a bull for them!

Hmm, I saw this post title on the upper banner and clicked on it and honestly I was thinking, just by the title, that someone could not get any info on a fishing spot so I clicked and read, interesting.
Some can write a two page report and not help at all when others can sum it up in a few sentences and make the difference on the next trip, vice versa. . I'm going to guess that you aren't going to get either one. God luck on the hunt, I'm looking forward to your report.

I would go out of state for elk, Utah elk hunting sucks.[:p]

Sorry that you feel the way that you do Slayer. However these guys pretty much hit it on the head. Yes, This site is to help fellow sportsman out with ideas and places that could be of help to them.

However, guys are not going to give away info that they have spent many hours, dollars and time to figure out. Hunting in this state has become more and more difficult over the years and this makes it so many folks hunting areas have been turned into CWMU and other private property units and such. Logging has destroyed one of my favorite places and I am screwed. I have to go find some new locations and I will decide if that is even worth it now to start over.

Good luck to you on your hunt and dont be discouraged.

+1 PackFan

This is why you didn't get much help. There's not too many people that can say they shoot elk in Utah every year on "Any Bull" units. Utah elk hunting sucks unless you draw a LE tag. The very few elk we have and that people have figured out are far and few. People do tons of research and are a little hesitant to give out elk info. Do you homework and you can find a good spot. It may take a few years, but sometimes success isn't measured by killing an animal. It takes a lot of "Unsuccessful" hunting trips before you can be confident in killing something.
Good Luck [Wink]

to an open bull hunter what you asked is like asking to sleep with our wife.[crazy] 10 percent of open bull hunters kill 90 percent of the elk every yr and the 10 percent are the same guys every yr. why becaulse they have spent yrs to learn how to kill elk. [Wink] ive killed 17 elk in 20 yrs. hint fallow the feed.[Wink]

I would have thought with a user name like his and working at Cabela's he would be the one to give out info instead of asking for info, just my 2 cents.[crazy]

One other thing you may want to consider in the future is posting on a site that is based on Hunting instead of Fishing. You don't get as much traffic on this site for hunting as you do fishing. There are about 20 regulars on here that post with the occasional guys passing through and that's about it. If I had some info on that specific area I probably would have helped you out. Chances are most of us didn't have any info to give out anyway. Try MonsterMuleys or Wildlifeforums for some info, but try not to be so pushy. People over there are ruthless, so you better be careful.
Good Luck on your hunt [Wink]
