Guy's and Gal's

If you are looking for something to do Saturday and want to help out a very worth while cause, Lake Mead Marina is the place to be. Here is the info and schedule

We’re about 1 week out before CAST for Kids and everyone is getting excited. Support remains high and everyone is looking forward to helping the kids fish and enjoy the day. There are a few things to remember:

* The event site is at the Las Vegas Boat Harbor dock, ¼ mile south of the Hemenway Harbor boat launch ramp. The site is the same place as last year.

* For volunteers, the event begins at 7 a.m., October 3rd, at the Las Vegas Boat Harbor parking lot where you can register, get a t-shirt, and then eat breakfast on the dock.

* Like last year, the kids will fish only from pontoon boats tied to the dock. This is important for safety and liability concerns. All kids must wear life vests while fishing.

* One change is that we are going to stop the fishing early at 11 a.m. at which time the volunteer fishermen will take the kids on a short cruise around Hemenway Harbor. We will use the pontoon boats supplied by Las Vegas Boat Harbor. There is no need for privately owned boats.

* Volunteers should park on the left/north side of the road to save the closest to the dock parking on the right/south side for the kids.

* The participants and their families may need help carrying gear up and down the dock, especially when the event ends. Please be on the look-out and help where you can.

* On Friday, Oct 2nd, we will set up tables and chairs at the LVBH dock. If you can assist be at LVBH parking lot near the base of the dock at 9:30 a.m.

* The schedule for the day is:

7am volunteers register, get t-shirts, eat breakfast
7:45 meeting with fishermen at eating area
8:00 kids arrive, register, get gear, are escorted to patio boats by Scouts
8:45 fishing begins on pontoon boats tied to dock
11:00 fishing ends and kids go on cruise
12:00 kids return for lunch
1:00 awards presented
2:00 event over and clean-up
