I called up my good luck charm (Bassert) a couple of days ago and set up our trip for this morning. Cold front conditions, NW wind, and I wasn't too sure just how the bite would be, but old lucky came through for us today. Another banner day for us. We started off with great fellowship and praised the Lord all the way up the lake to our first spot. That must have paid off cause we caught 33 crappie on the first stop.

Then on to bigger crappie on the next few stops. We ended up with 76 crappie in the boat, 1 really nice smallmouth bass, 1 ugly channel cat, 1 emaciated largemouth bass, and 3 bluegills. We kept 24 crappie from 11" to 13.5" and released all the rest. We easily could have had 2 limits of fish, but we didn't let the 10.75" crappie ride with us. They went back in the water to grow up. emoBigSmile Most of the crappie were 10" or better. Not too many little ones today.

Fish were caught on panfish assassins, stubby butts, and Bobby Garland shads on 1/32 oz jigheads. Most of the fish were not too deep. We caught several in 6' of water, but deep water was very near by. We were able to fish docks as the water had fallen about 5". We had just about 6" of clearance on most docks. Water flow was 73,000 cfs, water temp in the mid-70's and it was a bright sunny, cool day to fish.

I had fun again Pat. It never fails when you ride with me, we always catch a bunch of fish. Way to go, pal. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
