I ended up getting away from the office for the morning and ended up at Deer Creek. I was favoring Utah Lake, but my wife said she would prefer trout over Whiskerfish this time, so to the island I went.
7:15AM launch with 61 degree water temp and way cold air temp - slight breeze from the north. I began working around the bay looking for the possiblity of something extra toothy, but no go.
I began trolling around for trout ala TubeDude fashion paddling northward around the island. I found many large schools of perch on the sonar, so I stopped to take a crack at them. Lots and lots of dinksters 5-7 inches. After working them in several spots I went back trouting. Finally I picked up a 15" Bow. But that ended up being the only one for the morning. I picked up one suspended 9" Perch while trolling - don't know what it was thinking?
I called it quits shortly after noon. I didn't catch a lot of fish, but I had a great time and learned a lot. It was my first time to DC in many moons, and I'm looking forward to some fine Perch jerking in a year or two. [cool]
