It’s fall again and time for the bass and crappie to enter the creeks. My sweet wife, Coco, and my dog, Jake, joined me today and for 4 hours we caught bass and BIG crappie. But I don’t know if I’ll take Coco with me again because she caught the really big fish. She caught a 5 1/2 pound bass that was 21 1/2 inches long, a 5 pound catfish, and THREE TARP CRAPPIE—including one that was 15 7/8 inches long and two others at 14 1/4 and nearly 15 inches. One of these “smaller†ones was about the broadest crappie I’ve ever seen. (All of the fish are still swimming in the river.)

The main channel was very wind blown and choppy. So, we kept to the creek channels, fishing 16 to 20 feet deep with a water temperature of 73 degrees. We trolled 1/4 and 1/2 ounce Bombers and ended up catching most everything on Fire Tiger color. It was a beautiful day leaving us with really good memories.
