Although it may look good, and be very well satisfying, when you put your catch, particularly trout, on a stringer, they release enzymes in the blood stream that destroy the meat and put a real "gamey" taste to it. so what I'm trying to say is, DONT PUT YOUR TROUT ON A STRINGER! hehe. well, that is unless you have gotten used to that taste and you like it.
Even better, let your trout that you have caught swim around in the natural environment. NOT ON ANY KIND OF LINE OR CAGE OR ANYTHING. release them. whenever I release my fish, I have a feeling of accomplishment. that feeling, "hey, I could have just saved the whole population of this lake". well, maybe not that extensive. but you understand what I'm saying right?

Hi there lou,
I know just what you mean about the 'Dancing with Fishes' thing. There was a big bluegill season this year on some lakes I fish and it was really interesting to position myself so that I could observe my fishy friends without being noticed.
It took a bit of patience and a renewal of my tree climbing skills but laying out on a big fat limb I could view a couple of coves that held nesting bluegill, cruising bass, crappie and even some bottom hugging catfish. I got comfortable and just watched for over half an hour. I saw more fish than I ever imagined in sizes I was truely amazed to realize they were there everyday doing their fishy thing.
I've alway been careful to approach water in a stealthy manner and make a few casts back from shore before launching the tube. But the number and size of these fish was astounding.
Once I watched them for a while, I completely lost interest in catching them. That is really wierd if you think about it.

there is a gland in the trout that does this , if your gonna keep the fish for a meal , dispatch it as soon as possible . this is done by clipping the fishes head at the bottom of the gill plates and bending the head back to break the spine . your fish will not get that strong taste .
you keep on doing your catch and release joe [

], i do some myself , but some of these fish are just telling me to give them a butter bath ! [

THEIR AIN,T NONE BETTER.life, POWER AND CONTROL YA GOT, HUMANS KNOW IT, WE GOT IT WHEN YA GOT IN OUR HANDS MINE WHEN WE FISH AND HUNT, ANIMALS don,t they just try to survive. ya know?? humans are more ruthless at times then animals will ever be. BUT IT,S THE LEARNIN HOW TO CONTROL THAT POWER AND CONTROL, and not take more than what we need. that,s our p&c. in our hands, funny the indians knew this, knew how much to take and eveything and one, animals as weel survived, to flurish, white man comes in and there went their buffolo. huh, git my drift?? everything needs, everyone needs balance. DON,T EVER THINK IT,S WEIRD. NOT AT ALL DUB. LATER MARE THAT,S THE RESON WE STILL HAVE EM. CAUSE SOMEONE ELSE THOUGHT THE SAME AS US. LET YOUR KIDS SEE EM TOO.
