Our church held a building fundraiser auction last spring and I offered a full day fishing trip on my boat to the lake of the buyers choice here along the Wasatch front. Well, it was purchased & today was gonna be the day. Met up with the lady who bought the trip & her son and we headed out abour 8 AM. Stopped to fuel the truck & boat at a station on the corner of 7800 S. & 3200 W. As we pulled onto 7800 S. to head for Willard Bay We heard an awful thud & scraping sound. Looked in my rearview to see the boat listing BADLY to the right. Got out to check what the he-- happened & found the spindle had snapped clean off. There's construction on 7800 S in the area so I had to get off the roadway however I could. I started dragging the trailer on the axle to get into a store parking lot and as I was just pulling off 7800 the left spindle broke! How often will that happen? I told the lady & her son I wasn't gonna give up that easily so I took them back to their car & I went on an axle hunt. There's not one on the whole Wasatrch front that'll fit my old trailer! I picked up one in Orem that I hoped would fit - it didn't. Got another one here in SLC that was closer but no cigar. I did put it in the trailer & got the boat home after dragging a tire on the frame until it blew on 9000 S. right in the middle of rush hour. Just drug the thing home on the flat & later just the rim. Did kinda get a kick out of watching the reaction of other drivers as they watched that mindless doofus dragging his boat on a flat tire. Some thought it hilarious.I DIDN'T! I'll get them out fishing yet this fall as soon as I get the axle lengthened & the perches welded in place etc. etc.

Man, I'm really sorry to hear you had such a bad day. I'm also suprised that someplace like Henderson's didn't have the axle you needed.
First the motor thing, now this. Makes you wonder what #3 will be.

]I think everyone who has had a boat for any length of time can feel your pain.
We had a wheel bearing burn up on the way to Flaming gorge, about five miles east of Evanston. The Spindle was melted, so we needed an axle to get the boat and trailer home.
In the days before cell phones, so we unhitched the boat and drove back to Evanston to call a friend. He was great about getting a new one and bringing it to us the next day.
The axle was about two inches longer than the original, and boy did it bow as the weight was put on it. But we made it back and eventually got the axle modified.
Never made it to Flaming gorge.
Hang in there! Tight lines.

Thats horrible, same thing happened to me last week at East Canyon. I had to leave my boat in the water overnight while it was repaired. I'd love to help you with that fishing trip if you want some help with the women we can easily use my boat.

What a crappy day!
Like was mentioned, very shocked Hendersons could not help ya. Ive had many an boat trailer axel fixed/replaced by them. (duck hunting trailers are lucky to get a season the way my buddy drives)
Tke your old axel to them, They can refit it and manufacture a new one hubs/spindle and all for fairly inexpensive and only a couple days.

The problem I had was that I had to get the thing out of the grocery store parking lot that day so I couldn't wait for a new one to be built or my old one repaired.
